A Masters in Human Resource Management from Golden Gate University ,San Francisco, started dancing at the age of 8. She got her early training in Kathak Dance from Reena Majhi, Chandernagore/ Baidyabati, Hooghly, West Bengal, India and completed her "5 years diploma" in Kathak from Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh.
After coming to United States, she started learning Kathak in the Luck-now Gharana style from Dipanwita Sengupta. Later she had also learned through several work-shops from the legendary Kathak maestro, NrityaShiromoni Guru Bandana Sen.
She has performed in numerous programmes both in West Bengal, India (From Chandernagore to Serampore, and in Kolkata) and in the San Francisco Bay Area (Dance Drama - Ganga, NABC 2009, Kathak Recital in the International Festival - Oakland, Historic Drama - Shah Jahan, Kathak Angik, Ka-thak Angan, Dance Drama "Naari", Shaam-e Kathak, Zee Heritage India, etc.)
Currently, Paramita assists Dipanwita in her school "California Nupur Dance Academy " in Bay Area, where she imparts training to both children in Kathak, semi-classical dance and folk dances.
